You say many are not qualified. What are YOUR Qualifications?
Own your Vibrance is run by two women: Shea Leonard and Aimee Gallo. Aimee has a degree in Nutrition and Exercise Science from Bastyr University, is obtaining a Master’s in Nutrition and Functional Medicine, and has been health coaching since before it was a household word (14 years, to be precise). The concept of Food as Medicine has been a driving force for her since she was 13. She has literally devoted most of her life to studying the effect of food upon the body and helping others find the right foods for their body in a sustainable, effective way. Aimee believes there is no one right diet for everyone, although nearly everyone could use more vegetables on their plate. She also believes that the body is always trying to do its best and our job is to listen, learn, and respond to its needs. When we stop fighting our body and start listening and caring for it much like a newborn baby, we learn what its cues mean and how to respond effectively.
Shea Leonard is a certified personal trainer through The National Council of Certified Personal Trainers (NCCPT) and The National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) with specializations in Weight Loss and Corrective Exercise. As the daughter of a bodybuilder, fitness has been a part of her life since she was a child, participating in track and volleyball in her youth. She is passionate about fitness and wants the best results for every client. While some trainers stand and count reps while you work out, Shea teaches you proper form, the reasoning behind the exercise, and how this movement can carry over into everyday life.
What if I don’t live in Seattle?
No worries! Like previous online programs, we have workouts you can do at home or the gym of your choice. There are also videos of exercises, modifications for all fitness levels, and you have access to us in the secret Facebook group if you have any questions or need more tailored support around your exercise program. Even if you live in Seattle, if Eastlake is an inconvenient location you can still get great results!
Is there a refund?
If you decide you do not want to continue you have the first 30 days of the program to change your mind for any reason. We’ll happily refund your money! However, if you reserve a seat for $50 and opt out at the last minute we won’t be able to refund the deposit, as we keep our group size small so that we have the opportunity to give you more individual attention and thus expect to fill seats quickly.
I get that this isn’t a weight loss program….but will I lose weight?
Maybe. Any time dietary change happens weight can shift. We guarantee that the program we’ve created will create a foundation of strength and health. Sometimes weight will begin to normalize when that happens. However, we are big proponents of loving and appreciating your body, regardless of size, and are not going to be participating in ‘dieting behaviors’ such as weighing, measuring and ‘cheat’ meals.
Do you have any supplements or protein powders you recommend?
This program does not require any supplementation to be successful. Aimee will talk about some supplements that people should consider, but taking anything is strictly optional.
Are the workouts safe?
YES. Shea is a corrective exercise specialist and is dedicated to making sure you can perform these moves safely. If you cannot, we have modifications for you! Videos demonstrating proper form are available to ensure you are safe and utilize your body in the most effective way to get results!
Can I do these workouts even if I have not exercised in years (or ever)?
Absolutely. Whether you’ve never worked out or you attend Crossfit regularly, we have a workout that will work for you. And – if there is something you cannot do or is too easy, we are just an email away with a great alternative!
