Serves 2 · Ready in 10 minutes + 30 minutes chill time
Post-workout nutrition doesn’t have to feel like a compromise!
This mousse is rich, airy, and genuinely chocolatey; the kind of thing you’d make for guests without mentioning it’s your go-to recovery tool. A small ramekin delivers over 30 grams of protein in a portion that won’t overwhelm a sensitive or reduced appetite, making it ideal for those on a GLP-1 medication, those who have had gastric bypass surgery, or those who struggle to eat after a workout. No cooking, no equipment beyond a bowl and a whisk, and no ingredients you can’t pronounce. For anyone navigating appetite challenges, this is the smartest small-volume, high-protein option in your repertoire!
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup full-fat Greek yogurt (plain, unsweetened)
- 2 scoops vanilla or chocolate whey protein powder (~50g total)
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp raw honey or pure maple syrup
- 2–3 tbsp whole milk or unsweetened almond milk (to adjust consistency)
- Pinch of sea salt
- Optional toppings: fresh raspberries, shaved dark chocolate, chopped toasted hazelnuts
INSTRUCTIONS
- Add Greek yogurt, whey protein, cocoa powder, honey, and salt to a medium bowl. Stir vigorously until fully combined and smooth — no dry pockets of protein powder remaining.
- Add milk one tablespoon at a time, stirring between additions, until the mixture is thick but spoonable — think pudding rather than batter. It will firm up further in the refrigerator.
- Divide between two small ramekins or glasses. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes until set and airy.
- Top with fresh raspberries, a few shavings of dark chocolate, or toasted hazelnuts just before serving.
